I have a hunch that the religious right, and their henchmen, like Stephen Harper & George Bush are throwing conniptions over the two studies discussed in Psychology Today. According to the report over at YNOT, seems that two different studies, came to the same conclusion, THAT PORN ISN’T THE EVIL THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT CLAIMS.

You have to love it, I mean one study is from a guy who has been preaching the evils of porn and now his own study, concludes that Porn is not a harmful element of our society. In fact, the more one avails themselves of porn viewing, the more socially adjusted they become.

Now I can see the Religious Right Zealots rushing out to hire some hack, to conduct his own study, to refute these two studies. Of course, that will be right after they rush out to buy the latest edition of Playboy.

Personally, Porn should not be a political issue at all, but then as long as the Lunatic Fringe, like these religious groups try to seek political power for their own agendas, porn is going to be a political football. I mean just look at California, and the nonsense over Proposition 8 and now they are pulling a respected dictionary of the library shelves over the dictionary definition of Oral Sex They claim it is  too graphic for use in Schools.

I kid you not. In California they have pulled the 10th edition of Merriam Webster Dictionary, for its lurid definition of Oral Sex. Not only that, they are going to read the dictionary for other definitions, that might be inappropriate for school children to read. Of course, that is the same dictionary that Riverside County  Spelling Bee’s relies on. (source)

Like come on here. How graphic can a dictionary get, about oral sex? What, they include ‘how to’ pictures or something? Maybe they have a picture of a guy sucking on a big one?

I can see making definitions age appropriate, but come on, pulling a dictionary like Merriam Webster over one single complaint? Isn’t that a bit extreme, even for the nut jobs in California?
